Renewal
Notice: The NSCDN became the Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietetics (NSRD) on August 20, 2025. All standards and documents remain valid. Website content is being updated to reflect this change.
The renewal deadline is February 28 each year. All registrants who wish to maintain a license to practise dietetics and use the title “dietitian” or “nutritionist” in the upcoming licensing year must complete the renewal application.
The renewal application is opened from January 15 – February 28 for general renewal and from March 1 – March 31 for late renewal. For support with completing your annual license renewal, please refer to the resources below:
A complete renewal package includes:
- Jurisprudence quiz successfully completed.
- Learning Plans: (not required for candidate dietitians)
- Self-assessment
- Two completed learning goals
- Learning activities to demonstrate a full year of learning
- A reflection for each goal demonstrating the impact on practice
- Set new learning goals
- Self-assessment
- Two learning goals
- Renewal Application completed and submitted.
- A current professional liability insurance policy certificate on file
- Payment of the licensing fee
